SimplyDuty alternative for UK importers

Compare SimplyDuty with DutySpecialist for UK imports: public per-call pricing, free allowances, HMRC tariff checks and supplier quote risks, without unsupported savings claims.

Choose by your task, not just the monthly price

SimplyDuty provides international duty calculators and APIs. DutySpecialist focuses on checking GB import cash outlay and supplier quotes before ordering. If you need automated cross-country calculations, compare API coverage and billing units directly. If you need one UK order checked, start with a no-login estimate and inspect the excluded charges.

What the published pricing actually says

SimplyDuty’s official pricing page, checked 1 November 2026, lists five free calculations per day after registration, £0.10 per API call and £9.99/month for 100 API calls. Some endpoints can count multiple lookups. Confirm the current tariff for your intended endpoint before budgeting. These published figures differ from a three/day, pay-as-you-go-only description.

Where a UK quote check can add practical value

Enter a commodity code, origin, goods value, shipping and insurance. Our report separates supported duty, import VAT and cash outlay, shows source dates and lists uncalculated costs. A supplier’s FOB price is not the cost delivered to your door: ask who pays freight, destination clearance, UK delivery and port charges. Missing fields must remain uncertain, not silently treated as a supplier promise.

For a text-PDF quote, extraction runs locally. Edit and confirm the fields first. A supplier’s HS code is a candidate to check, not an official determination. Images, scanned files, multi-line classification, CDS export and saved audit trails are not available.

When SimplyDuty may be the better fit

Its API tools page describes classification and duty/tax APIs. That can suit integrations and international workflows. We have not conducted an identical-order speed or accuracy benchmark, and do not claim that its reasoning or support is inferior.

Check the same order fairly

  1. Use the same 10-digit UK code, origin, values and shipment assumptions.
  2. Compare duty separately from import VAT and courier fees.
  3. Check the rate and conditions against the UK Trade Tariff.
  4. Compare billed operations, free allowances and excluded taxes, not just headline prices.

Prepare your HS classification details or check a commodity code (including access to our AI classifier when available). Read our DutyDecoder comparison and our method and limits.
