Public estimate API

Free read-only JSON endpoint returning a UK import duty and VAT estimate for a commodity code, origin and value, with source, timestamps and 'not calculated' where rates cannot be verified.

Endpoint

GET /api/public/v1/estimate — no key needed. Only public tariff data is used; nothing you send is stored.

Parameters

• code — 10-digit UK commodity code (required)
• origin — 2-letter ISO country code of origin, e.g. CN, US, DE (required)
• goods — goods value in GBP (required)
• shipping, insurance — GBP, default 0

Rules

• Any amount we cannot verify is returned as { "status": "not_calculated", "amount": null }, never estimated.
• 400 = invalid input; 502 = the UK Trade Tariff could not be read (no estimate).
• Successful responses may be cached for up to 1 hour. Please cache on your side and keep request volumes modest.
• Versioned path: breaking changes will use /v2.
